How fees work

1
You set the ticket price
Publish for free and price your tickets however you want. Free RSVP tickets carry no fee.
2
Attendees pay 5% + 79¢ on top
The fee is added to the buyer's total by default — payment processing is included in it, so there's no separate Stripe line. The price you set is what lands in your revenue.
3
You're paid after the event
Ticket money is held, then released to your bank about 24 hours after the night (up to 72 hours for your first). Standard payouts are free.

Standard payouts — free
Held until ~24h after the event (up to 72h for your first payout), then released to your bank automatically. No OnVybe cashout fee.
Instant cashout — 3% for founding hosts
Where supported and available, pull your held balance before the scheduled release for a 3% fee (5% on the standard rate). Standard payouts after the event stay free.
Early payout — for eligible hosts
Early payouts may be available to eligible, established hosts. It isn't automatic; the option appears on your dashboard when enabled for your account.

Fee questions, answered

Is it free to create an event?
Yes. Publishing an event on OnVybe is free — no listing fee, no monthly subscription, no setup cost. You only pay a per-ticket service fee on paid tickets you actually sell.
Are free events really free?
Yes. A $0 / Free RSVP ticket carries no OnVybe platform fee at all. (Optional paid services a host might add on are separate and not free — only free tickets are.)
Who pays the ticket fee?
The attendee, by default — so you keep the full ticket price you set. You can choose to absorb the fee instead (round-number prices for buyers), per event.
How much does the host receive?
In the default attendee-paid mode, you receive the full advertised ticket price (the subtotal). The fee is added on top for the buyer. If you absorb the fee, it comes out of your cut.
What is the founding host rate?
5% + 79¢ per paid ticket, with payment processing included — lower than the standard rate. It's the current public launch offer for hosts who join during the founding period.
How does a host qualify for the founding rate?
Automatically — finish Stripe Connect onboarding and publish a paid event during the founding period. There's no separate application to fill out.
Does a founding host keep the rate?
Yes. Founding hosts keep 5% + 79¢ while their account stays active and in good standing — your rate does not rise when the founding period ends.
What happens after the founding period?
New hosts who join after the founding period start on the Standard rate: 7% + 79¢ per paid ticket. Existing founding hosts keep their rate.
Can the organizer absorb the fee?
Yes. Per event you can switch to organizer-absorbed pricing, so attendees see round-number prices and the fee comes from your payout instead.
When are payouts sent?
Ticket money is held until about 24 hours after the event (up to 72 hours for your very first payout), then released to your bank automatically. Standard scheduled payouts have no OnVybe cashout fee.
What is instant cashout?
Where supported and available, an eligible host can pull their held balance before the scheduled release for an instant-cashout fee (3% for founding hosts, 5% on the standard rate). Standard payouts after the event remain free.
Who qualifies for early payout?
Early payouts may be available to eligible, established hosts. It isn't an automatic entitlement — you'll see the option on your dashboard if it's enabled for your account.
What happens when a ticket is refunded?
Refunds follow the refund policy the host sets for the event (shown at checkout). When a paid ticket is refunded, its inventory is released and the associated payout is reversed.
Are chargebacks handled?
If a buyer disputes a charge, OnVybe's team handles it — you'll get a heads-up, and no action is needed from you.
Can large venues get custom pricing?
Yes. Major venues, festivals, institutions, and high-volume organizers can get Partner pricing — contact us to talk terms.
